أولا قبل البدء يجب معرفة فرق بين countable nouns و
uncountable nouns
سأقوم بشــ ــرح سريع لهم
countable nouns هي الأسماء التي يمكننا عدها مثل :
page يمكننا قول one page , two pages , three pages
orange يمكننا قول one orange , two oranges , three oranges ...
uncountable nouns هي الأسماء التي لا يكننا عدها مثل :
Milk لا يمكننا قول one milk , two milk ... هذا خطـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــأwater لا يمكننا قول one water ,two water

** نبدأ بa few
كلمة a few تعني بعض وهذه نستعملها عندما يكون اسم جمع و countable
we use a few if we have a countable noun and if it's more then one
مثل : I read a few pages
She bought a few oranges
** كلمة A little
كلمة a little تعني قليلا وهذه نستعملها عندما يكون اسم uncountable
we use a little if we have uncountable noun
مثل I drank a little water
I did a little homework
الأن الفرق بين ...................
a few و a little
لنعنى قليل جدا ولكن كافى راضى ...........
1- I have a few computers in my shop
2- I have a little money in my pocket
في الجملة اولى لدي بعض من الحواسيب في محل ليس لدي 0 حاسوب لدي قليل جدا غير كافى غير راضى
و في الجملة الثانية نفس الشئ لدي بعض من المال في جيبي ليس الكثير و ليس 0 مال لدي قليل جدا غير كافى
few -little
1- I have few computers in my shop
2- I have little money in my pocket
في الجملة اولى لدي بعض من الحواسيب لدي قليل كافى راضى
و في الجملة الثانية نفس الشئ لدي بعض من المال في جيبي لدي قليل كافى راضى
جملة المثال السابق .................
عندما يقول لك شخص هل ترغب فى بعض من الشاى فأكيد قليل من الشى ولكن كافى لكأس على الأقل ,والشاى فى نفس الوقت سائل لا يعد
فنستعمل a little
FEW vs. LITTLE
Few is used with countable nouns (nouns which can be counted), such as coin(s), sweet(s), and animal(s).
Little is used with uncountable nouns (nouns that cannot be counted), such as milk, time, and money.

FEW vs. A FEW
Few emphasizes the lack of something.
There are few sweets left in the jar.
(We should be careful not to eat them too quickly because they are almost gone.)
A few emphasizes that something still remains.
We have a few minutes left in class. Do you have any questions?
(We still have time so we should use it.)
LITTLE vs. A LITTLE
Little emphasizes the lack of something
We have little money right now. We should got out for dinner another time.
(We should be careful and use the money wisely because there is not much).
A little emphasizes that something still remains
There's a little ice cream left; who will eat it
(There's not enough ice cream to save it or put it back in the freezer so it should be eaten.)

An expression of quantity tells the amount of something.
much or many? few or little?
"much" - not countableكم كمية..... مع الأسماء التى لا تعد
"How much...?" With uncountable nouns in negative and questions.
Examples:
How much homework do we get?
How much money do I need?
How much milk do you want?
Is there much sugar in my tea?
"many" - countable nouns كم عدد .......مع الأسماء التى تعد
With countable nouns in negative and questions.
Examples:
How many sisters does he have?
How many pupils are in this class?
How many books do you buy?
How many cows live on this farm?
"a few ..." countable nouns قليل مع الأسماء المعدوده
Use "(A) few ..." with countable nouns.
Examples:
There are just a few examples.
I meet a few friends
I see a few hundred pupils.
I've got few brothers.
"a little..." uncountable قليل....مع الأسماء التى لا تعد
Use "a little" with uncountable nouns.
Examples:
There is little tea left.
Not a lot, only a little, please.
I've got little money.

a lot of / lots of Use an exact quantity or a lot of / lots of
Examples:
There are 10 pupils.
There are a lot of cookies
They have got a lot of CDs.
There are a lot of things on your table.
We have got lots of money.
